3-Year-Old Class Newsletter

Units

Our main themes for January are good health and winter.  Throughout the month, good habits such as getting enough sleep, eating healthy foods, and dressing for the weather will be emphasized.

Readiness

Readiness this month will include colors, shapes, patterning, cutting, and matching skills.  BLUE is the color this month.  Blue Day is January 14th.  Wear something blue.

Creative Dramatics

Our Creative Dramatic Play Center in the readiness room will be transformed in January from the FDC Restaurant to the FDC Hospital.  The children enjoy bandaging dolls and stuffed animals, as well as each other!  We would welcome any additional equipment you could donate or loan to us, especially tape for bandaging.

Open House

Open House this year is March 7, 2010.  During January and February, we will be saving most of the children's art projects at school to display on that day.  We will explain this to the children, but you might mention it to them as well.  They will be able to take everything home after Open House.

Conferences

Just a reminder that our parent/teacher conferences will be held on January 28th.  You will be sent a reminder of your scheduled time early in January.  There will be no classes on this day due to a scheduled field trip on Friday, January 29th.  Children are welcome to come to school with you during the scheduled conference time!

Field Trip to Excel Gymnastics

On Friday, January 29th, we will be meeting at Excel Gymnastics in Cranberry Township!  The morning class will meet from 9:15 AM until 11 AM.  The afternoon class will meet from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.  We will be introduced to the gym, have warm up time, trampoline safety and skill instruction, tumbling in an age appropriate circuit, and supervised playtime in the inflatable.

Registration for 2010-2011 School Year

Registration is now open to new families.  We strongly recommend registering your child now for next year if you have not already done so.  The current enrollment for 2010-2011 is listed below:  

3AM class -- 13 students

3PM class -- 2 students

4AM class -- 25 students

4PM class -- 2 students

Pre-K class -- 11 students
